David
began sculpting animals. He then progressed to modelling
portrait heads in which he relishes the constant challenge
of mastering form and expressing character. Beginning
with the members of his close family, he now under takes
commissions. He continues to sculpt animals and the badger and other animal scluptures are on display at a SITS gallery
at Stansted Park in SE Hampshire until the end of October.
David
makes his own moulds, and is exploring the use of various
non-toxic support jackets that avoid fume problems and
which are cheaper to make. He casts in ciment fondu,
marble and a variety of stones. He
also casts his work in bronze resin.
